Endometriosis & Chronic Illness/Pain: YouTube Video Has Touched Many!!!

Just a quick update for endo blog readers! Two threads have been very active with comments...

(1) The YouTube thread: "Monday, June 9, 2008 YouTube Video Clips --- Endo, Infertility, Chronic Pain, Pelvic Pain..."

(2) The followup YouTube thread: Monday, July 14, 2008 Jeanne's Endo Blog: YouTube Video Clips --- Endo, Infertility, Chronic Pain, Pelvic Pain... ***PART TWO***

If you have not viewed the chronic illness YouTube video referenced in these 2 previous posts (6/9/2008 and 7/14/2008), I highly recommend the video! If you read the 2 previous posts mentioned above, you'll see the video and the conversation about it.

It is emotional, touching, and ultimately uplifting. I can't say enough about it. I believe ANY chronically ill patient would just love it AND it's an educational tool for helping healthy people to begin to comprehend chronic illness (not just endometriosis but any chronic illness). It's very special!

By the way, the video clip is called: "Don't Judge- the saga of chronic pain" and was posted on YouTube by "booknhorsefreak" (a/k/a caiquecrazy, the screen name she used here on the endo blog). It's AWESOME!

Alicia,

Me too!!!!!!!!!!! It is SO awesome! Plus, she agreed to Guest Blog on our site in the future. Yay!! :)

Her chronic illness video clip has had thousands of hits (just check YouTube stats alone).

I watched the clip again today and cried yet was uplifted at the same time.

It speaks volumes. It's only 4 minutes and 4 seconds long and it just speaks VOLUMES!!!

I wish everyone would take just 4 minutes to sit down and watch it/listen to it...

Jeanne :)

P.S. Hope you're feeling better!!!

Caique Crazy,

Hey! I was just thinking of you and then your comment for my blog popped into my email the next day!!!

I have been working for the last few days on revamping my YouTube videos and had just come across your awesome chronic illness one and was wondering how you're doing.

I just deleted the old YouTube slideshow yesterday and added a new one in its place.

The old one needed updating for various reasons. It had been set up with keywords only (versus clips being handpicked) and it was pulling in some objectionable material that bypassed the YouTube filters that should have caught it! Unfortunately with a blog that contains gynecological terms, some people's video clips can get pretty inappropriate when the filters fail and I was quite dismayed yesterday when I pulled up my blog! Needless to say, I immediately deleted the old YouTube slideshow at that point!!

At some point, there may be ads on my new YouTube section and I’ll still need to keep an eye out for uncool stuff at that point. But for right now, I don’t have to babysit the YouTube section... which is kind of nice. I now know I can’t trust the YouTube filter to work. Yesterday’s clip was a bit of a nasty surprise! (I apologize to anyone else who saw it)!

Anyway, the new one allowed me to handpick some video clips of interest. I picked yours, OF COURSE, and it will still be showing on my blog! :)

There are currently 10 video clips on the new YouTube section of my blog. It allows readers to toggle through to see what they'd like (rather than wait for the random slideshow to cycle through like before).

So I picked a number of videos I thought would interest readers. I just finished getting it posted last night and haven't even written a post to introduce the new YouTube section of my blog yet. So your comment on this old post was very timely!

Anyway, it was really nice to hear from you and I am still looking forward to your Guest Blog entry whenever you're ready to do it! :) Just say the word...

I hope your email is back working again soon. :)

Jeanne

P.S. For those readers who aren't familiar with the term "caique", I had Googled it back when "Caique Crazy" had first posted here on the blog. A caique is a type of bird. "Caique Crazy" has some of these beautiful birds. I had seen her birds on YouTube and they are really cool. :)
