Wellsphere: How The Health Blogosphere Was Scammed
Wellsphere uses unpaid content from health bloggers. Dupes people into handing over their writing throwing around a Stanford label and pseudo awards. Now bought by HealthCentral.

This story was actually written on another blog.
I "blogged" this story from Digg.
In other words, I took the "blog it" option and it then posted the story to my blog. (I never did the "blog it" option before).
I was on Digg putting in my "vote" for the story.

It's most definitely not good what Wellsphere did. Stealing intellectual property to turn around and sell the company for, apparently, millions when the vast majority of what was sold to the new company is the writings Wellsphere obtained (for free) from health bloggers is despicable.
However, it is refreshing to see that this is finally being reported. I haven't blogged about my own personal experience with Wellsphere but let's just say that I lost a lot of sleep thanks to Wellsphere. Thankfully, I never gave any of my writings to them.
