There is nothing at all wrong with a political blog. However, I try to stay focused on the health issues I write about.
In light of the fact that Election Day is right around the corner and because some readers here do have daughters, I decided I'd post this clip to encourage readers to take their daughters (or maybe take a relative like a niece) with them when they vote. By setting an example for young girls, the adults in their lives can demonstrate the importance of everyone's voices being heard.
With healthcare being a very important issue this election year and with chronically ill patients being so severely impacted by the problems with the healthcare system in the U.S. at this time, voting is more important than ever this election.
So, let's get out the vote AND let's teach our younger loved ones how important it is to vote!
Women didn't always have the right to vote in this country. It's important for young girls today to be informed about women's suffrage and to understand how hard women AND men fought for women to have the right to vote in this country.
I had the privilege of visiting the National Women's Hall of Fame in Seneca Falls, NY several months ago. I learned quite a bit about women's suffrage by visiting the Hall of Fame. It is important not to take our right to vote for granted!
Thank you to Tracee Sioux for sharing yet another great video clip with me.

I believe that my generation of women was the first to come of age with most of us believing that the world would be fair to us.
But when I realized that I didn't know how my freedom happened I set out on a journey of discovery and I am now strengthened by the inspiration of countless suffragettes.
Can you even imagine being a woman and NOT being able to vote?
Thanks to the suffragettes, America has women voters and wide range of women candidates, and we are a better country for it! Women have voices and choices! Just like men.
But few people know ALL of the suffering that our suffragettes had to go through, and what life was REALLY like for women.
Now you can subscribe FREE to my exciting e-mail series that goes behind the scenes in the lives of eight of the world's most famous women to reveal the shocking and sometimes heartbreaking truth of HOW women won the vote.

Virginia,
Thank you for the information. It's amazing how much was skipped over or bypassed in school when I was younger. Many people don't realize how much sacrifice was made and how hard people fought for women to have the right to vote.

Mckay k,
I'm so grateful to Tracee so bringing this video to my attention. It's just what I was looking for to "get out the vote" without appearing partisan. I try to bend over backwards to keep my blog as "politically neutral" as I possibly can in my blog posts.
Obviously there are some environmental issues that directly impact endo & my other illnesses and I make it very plain where I stand on those. Frankly, they shouldn't be partisan or politicized.
I believe ALL people from ALL corners of the world need to be very concerned about the high incidence of chronic illness and environmental factors as one big factor in many of them!
I do feel very strongly about the importance of voting. With the election approaching and with the healthcare crisis looming as such a huge issue in this election, I am finding it impossible not to at least do my part in "getting out the vote".
Thank you about the Kreative Blogger Award and for mentioning the Cission's Media Updates. I really appreciate that word is getting out to help more patients.
I appreciate your thoughtful comments, as always. :)
You are such a wonderful source of positive energy and you help so many people with your blog!!
I'm sending you some positive energy and thoughts of wellness and peace!
